Savannah is gorgeous in the spring. Every spring seems to start a bit earlier each year. We’ve been telling people for years that the big azalea bloom is in mid March to early April. This year (2023) it happened in late February. It was gorgeous but so early.
The azaleas come with the wisteria and the dogwoods… The best places to see this is in Forsyth Park and Bonaventure cemetery. The other squares are still pretty but these are the best and if those flowers are blooming, it’s almost criminal to not have a wedding in Forsyth Park.
After that there are snowball trees and confederate jasmine. Before the azaleas, there are camillias and tulip magnolias.
It’s always pretty but sometimes the natural environment makes it extra special.
